The pomelo is a close relation to the grapefruit, with some key differences. The pomelo is larger than grapefruit and is the largest of all citrus fruits.
Although a similar flavour to grapefruit, it is less juicy and has a sweet, rather than bitter, taste.
Pomelos are often used as a dessert and also as a garnish for salads.
Unlike other citrus fruits, the membrane of the pomelo is extremely bitter and regarded as inedible.
